Employee Requirements

Love and care are essential, but there are other requirements for being on the Team.

So there is no doubt that our clients are in a safe environment, York County Adult Day Care Services performs a State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Criminal Records Check and in some cases a Federal Bureau of Investigation check on each prospective employee.

Staff members are certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and
First Aid.

Staff drivers are required to have annual drivers training.

Aids and drivers must meet minimal physical requirements such as:

• Lift, with assistance, persons up to 190 pounds or more
• Bend and kneel in narrow spaces to secure wheelchairs
• Lift boxes up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Push and pull persons in wheelchairs up and down ramps

Staff members working with Alzheimers clients must have special training and certification.

These requirements are intended to assure the safety and comfort of the clients without endangering the employee.
